Okay, so with the Windows Wireless receiver, make sure sure you install the drivers from the CD provided. After you set it up, restart your PC. And get ready to connect it. Just below your Guitar, on the base of the body, you will see a little button that has the icon of a receiver on it.

I just downloaded Guitar Hero 3 for pc and I am using my GHWT ps3 guitar. When I plug the guitar into my pc, the drivers installed correctly and the dongle and guitar pair just fine. When I type in joy.cpl and open the game controllers program and do a test, the green button is button 2 not 1, red is 3 not 2, yellow closes the window, and blue. Hello people! I bring good news today! After a bit of time, we managed to sucessfully create a easy way to play FNF using the controller triggers! (Guitar Hero Like).
Requirements:
PS3 Controller driver (To make Windows recognize the PS3 Controller. Not required if using a XBOX360 Controller).
Works in BOTH downloaded version or Newgrounds(WEB) version of the game.
NOTE: Tested in WINDOWS 10 LITEx64 / WINDOWS 7 ULTIMATEx64
NOT Tested on MODS.
Now follow these steps:
(STEP 1 is only required for PS3 Controller support).
STEP 1 - The first step is to make sure the windows can recognize the PS3 Controller and for that, you'll need the first item (Driver) linked above. Once you downloaded it, extract the files then go:
ScpServer > bin > ScpDriver.exe (Right click and Execute as admin) > Install.
Once it finishes, click on EXIT. (Might be necessary to restart to work but usually not.)
NOTE:
The game recognizes automatically the keys without need to configurate in the downloaded version and NEWGROUNDS(WEB) version of the game:
Triangle > Gives Up during a sound.
Circle > Back.
Cross > Confirm.
Start > Start/Pause.
STEP 2 - Once the driver is properly installed, download the JoytoKey and execute it. After this point you can customize it the way you want.
The way i play it, is:
L1 > Down. Download need for speed most wanted 2005 full version setup.

L2 > Left.
R1> Up.
R2 > Right.
But you don't need to use it like this if you don't want to, now how to set the keys to your liking in JoytoKey:
Once you click on a trigger, the corresponding key will glow in yellow, like this:
Now, left click on the corresponding key that you want to EDIT. It will make you enter the key configuration menu, then in the left corner, pick the highlighted option and set it using the keyboard arrows, like below:
Once you have finished it, Click in 'OK'. Now do the same to set the other arrows and you're done!
You can save the configuration in the 'File' option.
The JoytoKey needs to be opened to work.

This is a short tutorial explaining how you can connect a Guitar Hero Live controller to your PC and use it with Clone Hero (or any other software).

Download t pain effect software. Important notice: this only works if you have a Xbox 360 dongle for your guitar. If you don’t have such a dongle, you can try requesting a Xbox 360 dongle by opening a ticket on Activision support.
Step 1: connect the dongle to an USB port of your PC and wait for the automatic recognition/installation process to be completed.
Step2: open the device manager. To open the device manager you can press the Windows key + R, then type “devmgmt.msc” and click OK.

Step3: find the entry called “Guitar Hero”.
Step4: right-click on the entry “Guitar Hero” and select “Update driver”.
Step 5: select the second option “chose manually”.
Step 6: select again the second option “chose from list”.
Step 7: in the list select “Xbox 360 devices” and press next.
Step 8: in the following list select “Xbox 360 controller for Windows” and press next.
Step 9: confirm by clicking Yes.

Sync the guitar with the receiver dongle: you also have to connect the guitar to the dongle. To do so, press the green sync-button on the dongle and the sync-button of the guitar until they are both blinking and searching for eachother. Wait a few seconds and they will connect.
Note about connection problems: we heard repeatedly about cases where a certain Windows update (version 2004) breaks the driver and the receiver doesn’t work anymore. You can follow the steps of this video to fix it. Follow every step but when you need to copy the hardware ID, copy the whole expression starting from USBvid… and replace the entire USB-expression in the driver files. After having completed the steps in the video, the dongle should be working. However it might happen that the guitar still doesn’t sync. In that case you need to update the driver again (step 2 and onward). Choose again to browse your computer for drivers, uncheck “show compatible hardware” and re-install the original xbox 360 driver as shown above.
