Specifically, it appears they are based on greyhounds, which makes sense as their namesake is said to have been one. Art Evolution: In its original design, it was quite stocky, wore a collar, and featured a thicker pair of ears and pointy tail. In later updates, it became slimmer with. Neopets has bounced around a lot since its mid-2000s heyday. It was sold to Viacom in 2005, then to JumpStart in 2014. JumpStart was acquired by Chinese gaming company NetDragon in 2017. Neopets was conceived in 1997 by Adam Powell, a British student at the University of Nottingham at the time. He shared this idea with Donna Williams and the two started work on the site in September 1999, with Powell responsible for the programming and the database and Williams the web design and art. Their original office was located in Guildford.
The first step of the game is to choose a wand. It does not matter the wand you choose, they have all the same effect.
Than, the hard part: choosing skills. You have 5 types of Magic. Don’t waste skill points on Fire or Ice, since they are just damage without great collateral effects. Shock and Spectral are great options, but I’d also invest some on Life. Shock and Spectral magic can stun your enemy, absorb damage, reflect it and, later, you’ll have more chances to make more sequential moves than your enemy. Life magic is great because… it heals you.
If you like don’t invest too much on resurrection since it will just work (resurrect you when you lose a battle) 50% of the times.
Always move on hunting mode, to train faster. When the monsters of the area turn too weak to you change to sneaking mode, and you’ll get no enemies.
There are some “skipable” bosses. That means that they’re not essential to complete the game. But, anyway, we’re fighting them on this guide because they’re awesome to train and they give you nice weapon upgrades.
Step-by-Step Walkthrough
To reach his garden you need to go past a teleporter maze. The first teleporter is down on left. To the second go further down, turn right and up again. To the third teleporter go right, up and left. Finally go up and right, to the last teleporter.
After you defeat Gors use the teleporter behind him to go up. Move on upstairs till the first level of the ruins. There talk to Denethir and upgrade your weapon.
Go back to the dungeons and move on till the third and last level. There you’ll be able to fight Rollay, that will give you an useful item. Use the teleporter to come back.
The upper levels of the ruins are just storyline, so you can save time and not explore them.
To get your way to the Archmagus of Roo you must collect keys from unique monsters. The first is on the very first room and will be given out by a Ghastly Initiate. It’ll give you a copper-plated key that will let you enter the second room, further up and right. There fight a Ghastly adept to receive a bronze-plated key. Move on to the third room, the big one on down (near the first) where you must fight a Ghastly priest to receive a silver-plated key. This will able you to enter the fourth room the big one on the top left. Fight a Ghastly master, receive the gold-plated key and move to the fifth room, located under the second. There you must fight a Ghastly archon to receive a platinum-plated key that will, finally, able you to enter the sixth room, the small one on the centre (door turned to the left). Fight there a Ghastly templar that’ll give you the Crystalline key.
This time, after walking so much you probably trained a lot and leveled up. And you probably saw where is the Archmagus, so go there and fight him. There, fight the Guardians (that I consider here mini-bosses). Fight all of them, to train. Each one will drop a staff and the best of them is the Moonstone staff, given out by the Guardian of Life Magic. The Guardians will drop two armour upgrades, but the best is the Inferno Robe, since it reflects damage and hurts your enemy. End with the fortress is time to choose that second cave enter that I’ve talked above (the “one down”) This will lead you to the southeast and later part of the game.
Find your way trough the destruction and fight Faellin. Now you’ll understand why you stopped at the Sunny City, since she’ll be instantly defeated when you show her Rollay’s Medallion.
She’ll give you the key to the Two Rings, where you’ll find your final boss (that will be different depending on the game you’re playing: Normal, Evil! or Insane!)
